Iran’s Leader Appoints Six Senior Military Commanders, Strengthening Defense Strategy

Shiite News: Commander-in-Chief Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei has issued orders appointing six senior commanders and officers to key positions within Iran’s armed forces. The appointments include major changes in the leadership of the General Staff, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), and the Basij Resistance Force.

Under the new appointments, Major General Pilot Ali Abdollahi has been appointed Chief of the General Staff, Brigadier General Kioumars Heydari as Deputy Chief, Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi as Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Major General Mostafa Izadi as Deputy Commander of the IRGC, Rear Admiral Ali Azmayi as Commander of the IRGC Navy, and Hojjat al-Islam Hossein Taeb as head of the Basij Resistance Force.
