Mianwali: 5-Day Training Program for Imams of Friday and Congregational Prayers Begins at Jamia Imam Khomeini, Allama Iftikhar Naqvi Addresses

Shiite News: At Masjid Sahib al-Zaman, Jamia Imam Khomeini, Mari Indus (Mianwali), a five-day training program has formally begun to hone the academic and intellectual capabilities of Imams of Friday and congregational prayers. In this important training program, running from October 11 to October 15, 2026, detailed guidance is being provided on Tajweed and Qira’at, beauty of recitation, method of teaching the Quran, and other important religious and training topics.

Member of the Islamic Ideological Council of Pakistan, Chairman of Imam Khomeini Trust, and head of Jamia Imam Khomeini, Allama Syed Iftikhar Hussain Naqvi, delivered a special address at the first session of the program. A large number of Imams of Friday and congregational prayers and students participated in this session.

Allama Iftikhar Naqvi, emphasizing the importance of effective teaching of the Holy Quran and beauty of recitation, said that Imams can properly fulfill the duty of spreading Quranic teachings in society by honing their academic and teaching capabilities. Speaking about the unity of the Ummah, he said that in the present era, promoting brotherhood, tolerance, and solidarity among the Muslim Ummah is the most important need of the time, and Imams of Friday and congregational prayers should strengthen this solidarity through their sermons.

Allama Syed Iftikhar Hussain Naqvi, shedding detailed light on the subject of Mahdaviyat, clarified that the true waiting for Imam Mahdi (AS) is not just the name of a verbal claim, but it is a practical responsibility. He said that during the era of occultation, it is obligatory upon religious leaders to provide religious and moral training to the people, create awareness in society, and prepare the new generation intellectually and practically for the reappearance of Imam Zaman (AJ) through character building.
