Important Proposal Received from America Through Qatari Mediator: Alaeddin Boroujerdi

Shiite News: Senior member of the Iranian Parliament’s (Majlis) National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, Alaeddin Boroujerdi, has revealed that an important proposal from America has been received in Tehran through a Qatari mediator. Speaking to journalists, he clarified that regarding the Strait of Hormuz, the Islamic Republic of Iran stands firmly on its principled and strategic policy, and there will be no change in this position.

Reacting to Donald Trump’s recent statements, he said that Trump always makes such inflammatory rhetoric, and these unusual and unbalanced remarks found in the US President’s language are no longer new to us; we have become accustomed to it.

Assuring the public, he said that there is no cause for concern at this time, because as long as the Americans are busy with their presidential election process, they will not, in principle, enter into any stage of severe military or practical confrontation. However, he warned that if America commits any military folly, the Iranian armed forces and people are fully prepared to give it a crushing response.

Regarding the Qatari mediation, Boroujerdi confirmed that the American proposal has been conveyed to Iran through Qatar; however, he does not currently have further details. He stated that to obtain more information and details on this important matter, an important meeting will be held this afternoon with the Foreign Minister, in which this American proposal will be closely examined.
