Anti-US rally kicks off in Tehran

tehran rally anti usAnti-US rally kicked off on Friday morning in Tehran to mark the 33rd anniversary of the 1979 takeover of the US Embassy in the capital city, Tehran.
               
Thousands of Iranians from all walks of life, comprising students, university students, and business persons, are preparing to commemorate the National Day of Campaign against Global Arrogance and the National Student Day on Friday.
 
They gathered in front of the former US Embassy and at 700 points all over the country with ceremonies such as reciting verses from Holly Quran, performing national anthem and chanting slogans against arrogant powers especially the US arrogance.
 
Students in their uniforms started their slogans for unity under the leadership of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and his authority such as: “Death to America”, “Death to Israel”, and “Death to world arrogance”.
 
The demonstrators will finally read a final declaration for their ceremony today and perform their Friday prayer at Tehran University.
 
On November 4, 1979, a group of Iranian revolutionary students took over the US Embassy which they believed had turned into a den of espionage which aimed to overthrow the nascent Islamic Republic establishment.
 
The revolutionary students found that the embassy had become a hub for espionage against the country’s national security, so they had to foil the US plots and save the Islamic Revolution by taking over the embassy.
