Aytollah khamenei meets Qom Seminary teachers

World Shia Leader, Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei met with members of the Society of Qom Seminary Teachers in Qom on Saturday.

According to the Shiite News Correspondent,Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Syed Ali Khamenei met with members of the Society of Qom Seminary Teachers in Qom on Saturday.

Ayatollah Khamenei said clergymenâ€™s role in Islamic Republic Â of Iran Broadcasting should not be limited to preaching sermons and they should play a more active role in the organization.

Clergymen should be fully aware of cultural issues in order to thwart the cultural invasion launched against the country, he stated.

Clergymen should also provide people with cultural guidance, he added.

The Leader also said that one of the most important responsibilities of members of the Society of Qom Seminary Teachers is maintaining unity among the ulema and upholding their honor.

The Society of Qom Seminary Teachers should establish a think tank and attract talented clerics to it in order to formulate strategies to make progress in the educational, cultural, and social spheres, he stated.

The Society of Qom Seminary Teachers played a determining role before the victory of the Islamic Revolution and has continued to do so since that time, and its members have made the utmost efforts to remain loyal to the ideals of the late Imam Khomeini, he observed.
