US Congress to ban Al-Alam
A US congressional committee will shortly be discussing the draft proposal for the criminalization of the Arabic-language Iranian news network Al-Alam, sources close to the members of the committee said.
Charges against the network include “inciting hatred and anti-Semitism and support for the Palestinian cause against the Jewish state.”
The bills proposes Al-Alam be branded as a “terrorist organization” and would ask the Ministry of the Treasury to confiscate its properties in US banks.
The anonymous sources also said Israel, felt threatened by Al-Alam’s report on the event in occupied territories, demanded the US take the news network off the air.
The Organizations of American Jews, in a message to members of Congress, called for a measure against Al-Alam.
