Iran Does Not Want War but Will Give a Decisive Response to Any Aggression, President Pezeshkian Says

Shiite News: President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian has made it clear that Iran does not seek war, but will not remain silent in the event of any aggression against the country and will respond decisively with strength and determination. He made the remarks while departing for Kyrgyzstan to attend the 26th Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

Emphasizing the importance of the SCO summit, President Pezeshkian said that at a time when some international institutions are attempting to create an atmosphere of a single dominant voice in the world, the summit represents the presence of diverse and independent voices at the global level. He expressed hope that constructive dialogue at the summit would demonstrate that regional leaders can resolve their issues more effectively through their own efforts.

Referring to the region’s historic and cultural ties, the Iranian president said that peace, security, economic activity and civilization have flourished in a region with a shared history spanning thousands of years. He stressed that the peace, development and stability of regional countries are interconnected and that these nations have historically participated in coexistence and development—an approach that needs to be advanced in today’s world as well.
