Sheikh Naim Qassem Congratulates Khalil al-Hayya, Pledges Hezbollah’s Support

Shiite News: Hezbollah Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem has sent a congratulatory letter to Khalil al-Hayya, the newly appointed head of Hamas’ Political Bureau, describing his election as a symbol of steadfastness, determination, and the continuation of the resistance.

In the letter, Sheikh Naim Qassem said that al-Hayya’s election comes at a time when, according to him, Israeli and U.S. actions are affecting the Palestinian people, Gaza, and the wider region. He described the appointment as reflecting a commitment to preserving the spirit of resilience and resistance.

The letter stated that Hezbollah views al-Hayya’s leadership, citing his long experience and describing him as the father of martyrs, as a continuation of the path established by Hamas leaders, including Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, Ismail Haniyeh, and Yahya Sinwar.

Sheikh Naim Qassem also wrote that Hezbollah stands alongside Hamas, supports its leadership, and backs its efforts and objectives concerning the Palestinian cause.

Referring to Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, the letter stated that, despite three years having passed since the operation, Israel had not achieved what Hezbollah described as its objectives of eliminating the resistance. The letter further alleged that while the conflict had caused widespread destruction and civilian suffering, it had also strengthened hopes for freedom and dignity.
