US Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) on Tuesday imposed sanctions on seven Lebanese nationals under the pretext of having ties with Lebanese Hezbollah and its financial firm, Al-Qard al-Hassan (AQAH).

The seven individuals have linked to Al-Qard al-Hassan (AQAH), a financial institution that was blacklisted in 2007.

The Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) claimed in a statement that Hezbollah in Lebanon was using Al-Qard al-Hassan (AQAH) financial institution to get access to the international financial system.
