Hezbollah-army cooperation defeated Takfiris: Sheikh Naim Qassem

Addressing the participants of the opening ceremony of Islamic Radios and Televisions Union congress on Sunday, Hezbollah’s Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem said that thanks to cooperation between the Lebanese Army and Hezbollah forces, the Takfiri terrorists have suffered heavy blows inside Lebanon.

He further emphasized that the liberation of some towns and villages along the Lebanese-Syrian border has established a secure zone between the two countries.

Sheikh Qassem noted that there have been no car bomb attacks inside Lebanon since last year, saying it was due to the Lebanese forces’ firm stance against Takfiri terrorists.

“The enemy intended to first topple the Syrian government and then follow up on American and Israeli plots [in the region] but failed to achieve their objectives,” he said.

Syria has been fighting against foreign-backed Takfiri terrorists since early 2011. The conflict has reportedly killed an estimated 240,000 people so far, including nearly 12,000 children.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Sheikh Naeim Qasem pointed out at Iran’s nuclear talks with 5+1 and underlined, “This agreement (BARJAM) has changed West’s approach towards Iran and its allies and we can observe the elevation of Islamic countries against the outlaws.”

The Lebanese cleric held Iran the constant companion of Islamic Jihad and Resistance and underscored, “The Islamic Resistance forces in Lebanon and other countries can ensure their future victories only through setting Islamic Revolution of Iran as their example. In this case the Wilayah Faqih is the common Code for global victory of Islam.”

The 8th congress of the Islamic Radios and Televisions Union was launched in a ceremony in Tehran on Sunday Aug 16 with religious thinkers in attendance.
