Strait of Hormuz Will Not Be Opened Until the Siege Is Lifted: Esmail Baqai
Shiite News: Spokesman of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Esmail Baqai has said that until the siege is lifted and Iran’s demands are met, the Strait of Hormuz will not be opened.
In the weekly press briefing on Monday, he said that American imperialism and the usurping Israel are the fundamental root of all instability in the region, and the centre of developments in West Asia is still occupied Palestine and the genocide ongoing there.
He said that after the elections in the Zionist regime, the atrocities against Lebanon and Gaza have intensified; with the onset of winter, the condition of displaced Palestinians has become catastrophic, and the international community is afflicted with indifference.
Regarding a question about Qatar’s mediation, Esmail Baqai said that the exchange of messages between Iran and America continues and now the final decision has to be made by America, and the fulfilment of Iran’s demands is conditional upon the restoration of security in the region and in the Strait of Hormuz.
Regarding US Vice President JD Vance’s letter to Major General Mohsen Rezaei, he said that for Iran only American actions matter, the response to the letter will be decided by the Supreme National Security Council, and the basis of negotiations is Iran’s seven-point plan, which can be implemented within two days.
