Sheikh Qassem: Hezbollah Nominated Franjiyeh because He is Eligible for Presidency
Hezbollah Deputy Chief Sheikh Naim Qassem affirmed that the Resistance Party nominated Head of Marada Movement Sleiman Franjiyeh for presidency because he is eligible for leadership.
Sheikh Qassem addressed Hezbollah opponents in Lebanon, “We nominated who we believe he is eligible for leadership. It is your turn to nominate your candidate.”
Addressing a ceremony held to mark the 42nd anniversary of Muslim Scholars Assembly, his eminence expressed Hezbollah readiness to discuss the nominations with the various parliamentary blocs and added that, when the parliament convenes, the democratic process will be concerned with the election results.
Sheikh Qassem also stressed that Hezbollah nomination of Minister Franjiyeh is serious, adding that the Resistance Party may never carry out maneuvers in the candidacy context.
According to Al-Manar sources, the presidential elections file has not witnessed any progress, and all parties, except for Hezbollah and Amal Movement, have not settled their choices pending regional developments.
