Security agencies who consider them above the law rule Pakistan, SUC leader Allama Syed Sibtain Sabzwari said in reaction to enforced disappearance policy.
In an interview, he said, the Constitution doesn’t allow enforced disappearance of any citizen of Pakistan. Even then, they subjected many citizens to enforce disappearance.
Shia families sit in
He noted that after the affected Shia families’ sit-in in Karachi, the agencies had to show the detainees arrested accused.
Unfortunately, SUC North Punjab president lamented, instead of releasing them, the agencies showed them book under charges.
Agencies above the law
He said if agencies had wanted them in cases, they should have already handed over them to police for same reason.

For that reason, he said, it seems that the security agencies rule Pakistan and they deem themselves above the law.
Most importantly, Allama Sibtain Sabzwari said that he turns down enforced disappearance of any Pakistani humanitarian and legal grounds.
Furthermore, he said PTI had been giving statements against enforced disappearance (missing persons’ issue) in past. But after assuming power they took U-turn.
Noteworthy: Shia Ulema Council also had supported the affected Shia families sit-in against enforced disappearanc.
They too had staged rallies in Punjab to mark solidarity with the victims of enforced disappearance.
