National Democratic Opposition Parties meet with HRW delegation

bahrain conferenceOn Monday, the National Democratic Opposition Parties in Bahrain met with Human Rights Watch’s delegation to Bahrain in al-Wefaq offices in Bilad Qadeem.
 The Human Rights Watch delegation included Deputy Executive Director, Mr. Jan Egeland and Ms.Sarah Leah Whitson, Executive Director of Middle East and North Africa Division and Mr. Marwan Hamma, Reasercher of Middle East and North Africa Division.

Opposition parties’ leaders and representatives attended the meeting in which they discussed the latest developments as well as issues related to human rights violations and the official handling of the increasing magnitude of violations.  
 
During the meeting, the National Democratic Opposition Parties emphasized on the importance of the NGOs’ role in revealing human rights violations in Bahrain. Human Rights Watch has played a vital role through its continuous   reports over the past two years -since the eruption of the pro-democracy revolution in Bahrain and before- by revealing the dark side of the official handling with citizens in Bahrain through the periodic professional human-rights reports it issues.       

The opposition parties stressed that guaranties must be found to ensure the prevention of violations in Bahrain and to stop the official recklessness in extreme violence and excessive forces against the citizens and protesters to retaliate for their dissident stances to the regime.
