Saudi Arabia wants Geenral Raheel to be the commander of 34 country alliance
Shiite News: The alliance of 34 countries is pressing General Raheel Sharif to become the Commander-in-Chief of the coalition after his retirement, reported US military and political sources.
The 34 country alliance would take action against terrorists in those member countries where they have made peoples’ lives miserable. The formation of military alliance was announced by Saudi Defence Minister Muhammad Bin Salman in Riyadh during a press conference. He could be the future king of Saudi Arabia. Sources said Pakistan’s military leadership’s neutral policy towards Saudi Arabia and Iran would remain intact and this office would not cause any change in policies of the Pakistani military.
The Saudi offer comes in light of General Raheel’s increasing popularity in Pakistan and the west due to successful military operation Zarb-e-Azb, which improved law and order situation in Pakistan to a great extent. Now it is to be seen whether he accepts the offer or not.
Media reports have proved that Saudi Arabia’s real motive behind formation of the alliance is not to take action against terrorists rather to provide support to the Saudi militants fighting in Syria and Iraq because they have suffered setback at the hands of coalition forces of Russia, Iran, Iraq and Syria.
Out of 50 Islamic countries only 34 have been made a part of this Saudi-led military alliance and major Islamic countries, including Iran, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and Palestine, are not part of the coalition.
