Yemen’s Defenders of the Holy Sites Targeted Aramco, Not Makkah; Deception by Riyal-Earning Clerics Will Not Work: Allama Jawad Naqvi

Shiite News: Head of the Tehreek-e-Bedari-e-Ummat-e-Mustafa, Allama Syed Jawad Naqvi, said that a false impression is being created in Pakistan that Yemen launched a drone attack on Makkah in order to pave the way for military action against Yemen in defence of the Saudi regime.

He stated that Yemen did not attack the Holy Sanctuary and claimed that the followers of Imam Hussain (AS) are the true defenders of the holy sites. He said Yemen had targeted only Saudi Arabia’s Aramco oil company, which he described as operating in partnership with the United States, in what he characterised as an act of self-defence.

He said that defending one’s own territory is permissible under both international law and Islamic law. Allama Jawad Naqvi strongly criticised what he described as “riyal-earning” religious scholars who, according to him, turn truth into falsehood. He said that when Gaza, Palestine and Al-Aqsa Mosque were being devastated, they did not see any desecration, but when Yemen resists in what he considers legitimate self-defence, these clerics begin protesting. He said the people of Pakistan would not be deceived by them.

He further said that the current war in the Middle East cannot be viewed separately from the broader conflict involving Gaza, Israel, Iran, Hezbollah, Hamas and Yemen. He said various forces in the region are seeking to weaken resistance groups, while Yemen has maintained a prominent role through its actions against Israel. In this context, he claimed that the Saudi regime and its allies had made unsuccessful attempts to weaken Yemen but had failed to achieve their desired results because of Yemeni resistance.
