115 terrorists of outlawed outfits to be detained under MPO in Punjab

SSP-FlagIn what appeared to maintain peace during elections season, Punjab Government has approved a policy to detain 115 members of outlawed terrorist outfits under Maintenance of Public Order (MPO).

The government has also formulated a comprehensive policy for 1406 terrorists mostly those imparted training in Afghanistan and named in the 4th Schedule of the Home Department and Interior Ministry.

According to the policy, such persons named in the 4th schedule cannot move out of their areas and districts. Punjab police has been directed that bullet proof vehicles and uniforms should be arranged for foolproof security of the VVIPs in particular.

Reports had it that banned terrorists groups such as outlawed Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, Jundullah, Tehrik-e-Taliban may sabotage the elections through terrorist activities.

District administrations were issued the directives to design foolproof security by April 6. The local administration has been directed to withdraw 75 percent staff of VVIP duties and each electoral contender should be provided 5 security personnel.
