2 ISIS militants were imprisoned by a German court in Celle
Two former ISIS militants were imprisoned by a German court in Celle on Monday.
Ebrahim H. was sentenced to three years, while Ayoub B. was sent down for four years and three months. The verdict is significantly lower than demanded by the public prosecutor.
Both men of Tunisian origins were “involved in the ISIS of Iraq and Syria between June and August 2014,” the court said.
Ayoub B. was trained to handle weapons and promoted ISIS propaganda, although there is no evidence that either men were responsible for any deaths.
Ebrahim H. also spread ISIS propaganda and was trained as a potential suicide bomber, the court heard.
According to the German foreign intelligence agency around 750 extremists from Germany have joined to ISIS in Syria and Iraq. The exact number of returnees is unknown.
