Grand Interfaith Seminar Held in Bolpur, India, in Memory of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei

Shiite News: A grand interfaith seminar titled “Martyr of the Path of Karbala, Grand Ayatollah Imam Seyyed Ali Khamenei” was held in Bolpur, West Bengal, India, through the joint efforts of Halqa-e-Qadriya Bolpur and the Council for Proximity of Religions, Delhi.

The seminar was attended by a large number of Islamic scholars, intellectuals, religious and social leaders from different schools of thought, students, youth, and members of the public. Speakers discussed Ayatollah Khamenei’s scholarly, intellectual, and revolutionary contributions, emphasizing themes of Muslim unity, interfaith harmony, and support for oppressed peoples. They described his ideas as a guiding framework for the contemporary Muslim world.

The event began with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an, followed by welcoming remarks from the organizers, who outlined the objectives of the seminar. Speakers stated that Ayatollah Khamenei’s influence extends beyond Iran and symbolizes perseverance, insight, and unity for many Muslims.

Among the speakers were Syed Zeeshan Ahmad Arzani, Syed Khalid Naqvi, Syed Ali Joon Qadri, Syed Mustafa Jameel Qadri, Syed Rashadat Ali Qadri, Sheikh Zubair Hussaini, Mufti Nooruddin Misbahi, Qari Ahmad Hasan, Nilesh Chatterjee, Ahmed Hasan Imran, Dr. Sheikh Rizwan-ul-Salam, Hujjat-ul-Islam Munir Abbas Najafi, Syed Sadiq Hussaini, Syed Ansar Hussain Naqvi, and Wafadar Hussain.

Mufti Noor-ul-Ain Misbahi presented a paper on the Ashura-inspired legacy of the late leader, while Qari Ahmad Hasan spoke about India’s historical importance from his perspective. Hindu community leader Nilesh Chatterjee discussed the universal values of Imam Hussain (AS), describing justice and truth as a shared heritage of humanity.

Mufti Nooruddin Misbahi highlighted Ayatollah Khamenei’s religious ruling prohibiting insults to revered Sunni Islamic figures, describing it as an important contribution toward Muslim unity and mutual respect.

Syed Rashadat Ali Qadri addressed the international impact of the funeral ceremony, while Syed Ali Joon Qadri spoke about the late leader’s Karbala-inspired outlook.

In his keynote address, Hujjat-ul-Islam Syed Sadiq Hussaini stressed that Muslim unity remained a central pillar of Ayatollah Khamenei’s thought. He said the fatwa against insulting Sunni sacred personalities demonstrated a practical commitment to Islamic unity and encouraged young people to promote the values of solidarity, awareness, and cooperation.
