Islamabad Hosts Memorial Ceremony Honoring the Martyred Leader of the Ummah; Shia and Sunni Scholars Stress Muslim Unity

Shiite News: A dignified memorial and tribute ceremony was held at Jamiat-ul-Kauthar, Islamabad, under the auspices of the Pakistan representative office of Jamiat al-Mustafa al-Alamiyah, to honor the life, legacy, and services of the “Martyred Leader of the Ummah.” The event was attended by prominent Shia and Sunni scholars, intellectuals, students, and a large number of community members.

The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an by Qari Syed Yahya, followed by a poetic tribute to the martyrs presented by Owais Raza.

Prominent Sunni scholars Mufti Gulzar Ahmad Naeemi and Mufti Syed Tayyab Tirmizi addressed the gathering, saying that the fundamental message of the Islamic Revolution is to strengthen unity among Muslims. They emphasized that any action which undermines the unity of the Muslim Ummah contradicts the mission of the martyrs.

The speakers stated that the martyred leader, through his sacrifice, highlighted what they described as the true image of Islam and Shia Islam, defended human dignity, challenged the influence of the United States and Israel, and kept the Palestinian cause alive.

Later, leading Shia scholars—including Hujjat al-Islam Sheikh Muhammad Shifa Najafi, Friday prayer leader of Islamabad; Allama Syed Iftikhar Hussain Naqvi, a member of Pakistan’s Council of Islamic Ideology; Sheikh Fida Hussain Motahari, representative of Jamiat-ul-Kauthar; and Sheikh Sajid Ali Subhani—spoke about the scholarly, intellectual, and leadership qualities of the martyred leader. They said he guided the revolution with wisdom and insight and ultimately attained martyrdom while observing the Ramadan fast.

In the concluding session, the chief guest, Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi, leader of the Tehreek-e-Jafaria community in Pakistan, expressed condolences over the martyrdom and urged participants to study the revolution from multiple perspectives to better understand the leader’s legacy. He described resistance against oppression and Muslim unity as enduring outcomes of the martyr’s sacrifice and called for preserving and advancing his mission.
