Pace of NAP could affect the results of operation: Core Commanders Conference

Core Commanders Conference which was presided over by the COAS General Raheel Sharif enforced the need to complete JITs on priority basis and it was said that the pace of NAP could affect the results of the operation. Internal security situation of the country and execution of NAP was discussed in the Core Commanders Conference held under the leadership of COAS. According to ISPR, the participants were briefed about different ongoing operations against terrorism and the actions taken for success of operations and achievement of long-term peace were also discussed in the meeting. Army Chief praised the successes of operations carried upon secret information and said “The nation completely supports ongoing operations against terrorism. Good governance is needed to ensure long-term peace”. Completion of JITs on priority basis was also stressed upon in the conference and it was said that the speed of Nap could affect the results of the operation. Army Chief directed that the process of returning of those who temporarily shifted from their home towns should be speeded up. Army Chief also took the participants in confidence over his next US’ visit. According to ISPR, Army Chief will highlight Pakistan’s stance over the changes in the region during his next visit to the US.
