Two ASWJ terrorists arrested in connection with attack on Shuja Khanzada

Intelligence agencies have arrested two terrorists of notorious AhleSunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) in connection with the deadly suicide attack on martyred Punjab home minister Col (retd) Shuja Khanzada here on Wednesday.

Sources told the local media persons that local terrorists in Attock, where Sunday’s attack was carried out, collaborated with the terrorists.

According to further details into the probe, more than one terrorist outfits were involved in the attack that killed at least 18 others and injured dozens.

Most wanted terrorists Matiur Rehman is also likely to be involved in the attack. Rehman is wanted for the attempted assassination of former military ruler Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf in 2003.

He was also wanted for attacks on former prime minister Shaukat Aziz and suicide bombing on Sheraton Hotel in Karachi and carried Rs10 million head money.

Meanwhile, police and intelligence agencies have started interrogating local residents as part of the probe. Rawalpindi Division’s Attock District holds 181, the most number of suspects in the country.

Banned outfit AhleSunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) ,a parent organization of outlawed Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, were found involved in the terrorists attack on Pakistani’ Shiite and Sunni Muslims beside the attacks on Pakistan Army, senior politician and minorities of Pakistan. The outfit has also involved in the assistance of Human Resource ( Militants) , Information and Arms to Al-Qaeda , Islamic State (Daesh) , Taliban, Jundullah and others terrorists groups to carried out their attacks within Pakistan.
