Sunni guard shot dead Sunni Bank Manager on false blasphemy charges in Khushab city of Punjab province, police and relatives said on Thursday.

Bank staff shifted Malik Imran Hanif, the manager of the National Bank of Pakistan branch in Quaidabad tehsil of Khushab, to a local hospital after the guard shot him from a rifle.

Due to his critical injuries, he was taken to Lahore.
But he succumbed to his wounds at the Services Hospital.

Unfortunately, the security guard falsely accused the bank manager of blasphemy to understate his crime.

However, relatives, friends and the religious scholars and circles rejected this charge as baseless and untrue.

Bank Manager Malik Imran Hanif’s social media posts show him an adorer of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and his progeny.

However, some fanatics and violent extremists misuse the issue of blasphemy to settle scores with opponents.

In this particular case, the Sunni guard shot dead a Sunni bank manager and tried to cover up his crime misusing the issue of blasphemy.

Meanwhile, Khushab District Police Officer (DPO) retired Capt Tariq Wilayat confirmed that the security guard had claimed to have killed Hanif over blasphemy.

However, police have arrested him.
