The police also booked them under fake cases of violation of section 144 or violation of social distancing.
The legal team of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) led efforts for their release.
Due to waging legal battle, the City Court ordered police to release all those more than 250 azadars (Shia mourners).
The court exonerated them of the charges and also rejected challans nullifying the cases.
Unfortunately, the government, police and some sectarian hatemongering outfits people intentionally campaigned against Youm-e-Ali mourning procession.
On the one hand, the entire Pakistan remained open for Friday prayers, Taraweeh prayers, daily prayers and even for huge rush at markets/bazaars.
And on the other hand, all those who had no objection to the aforesaid gatherings, had run malicious misleading campaign against Shia Muslims.
All non-Shias are holding their religious gatherings and even throng bazaars and markets for shopping without observing social distance but they gave an impression as though the government had not allowed them anything.
Factually speaking, non-Shias have been offering en masse congregational prayers of non-obligatory Taraveeh since the moonsighting night of Ramazan to date.
