Pakistan and Iran resolve to enhance security measures on border.
According to ISPR, Pakistan Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa spoke to Chief of the Armed Forces of Iran Major General Mohammad Bagheri.

During telephonic conversation, military leaders of Pakistan and Iran have expressed the resolve to enhance security measures on either side of the border to ensure border security.
They also discussed the recent terrorist attack on Pak security forces resulting in shahadat of six security personnel near Pak-Iran border.
The COAS said that Pakistan has started fencing the border. But he added it will require mutual bilateral cooperation to ensure border security and stem smuggling activity.
Meanwhile, they also discussed COVID-19 and need to improve border terminals to address such issues.
General Qamar Javed Bajwa reiterated Pakistan’s desire for regional peace and stability on basis of mutual respect, non-interference and equality.
Earlier, Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan had proposed Tehran-Islamabad cooperation to stem desert locust attacks which pose dangers to the food security of millions of people in the two countries.
The eminent diplomat Mohammad Ali Hosseini floated this suggestion in an article which the local media carried on Tuesday.
He said the new challenges such as the global pandemics, climate change, pollution and infest of locusts require timely and collective response.
He further said that food security means state of having reliable access to a sufficient quantity of affordable nutrient food.
Moreover, Ambassador Hosseini cited UN’s related reports that noted food security has declined dramatically in many developing countries
He said these days there are many reasons for deficiency of food security, inter alia, swarm of desert locusts, lack of water for agriculture and rapidly growing population.
Therefore, Syed Hosseini noted what immensely engaged countries such as Iran and Pakistan in recent years includes the challenges such as locusts from different sides that threatens food supply for millions of people in the two countries.
