Nasrallah, Hamas envoys hold talks to mend ties

syed hassan-nasrullahSecretary General of Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah has reportedly held talks with representatives on Palestinian resistance group Hamas earlier this week.

Seyyed Nasrallah held “lengthy discussions with prominent leaders of Hamas in the framework of mending ties between Hamas and Hezbollah on the one hand and Iran on the other,” Egypt-based al-Akhbar Daily reported in a Saturday article.
The daily further stated that several meetings between Hamas and Hezbollah officials had already taken place prior to the Saturday meeting.
Last year, Nasrallah, Ramadan Shallah, the secretary-general of Islamic Jihad, and Moussa Abu Marzouq, the deputy head of Hamas’ politburo met and agreed to end Sunni-Shiite strife in Lebanon and avoid dragging Palestinian factions in Lebanon into domestic conflicts.
The meeting came as ties between Hezbollah and Hamas deteriorated over the foreign-backed insurgency war on Syria.

This is while some elements in the Palestinian movement had expressed support for the foreign-hatched insurgency in Syria as the Lebanese resistance remained on the side of President Bashar al-Assad as the loyal ally of resistance groups against the Israeli regime.
Additionally, Hezbollah has dispatched some of its forces to battle against the armed insurgents in Syria who made no secret of their pro-Israeli aim of toppling the Damascus government.
