Israel wants to deprive Lebanon from waters, gas and oil
The Hezbollah deputy chief said that “the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) is being used as a scarecrow against the resistance,†adding that “it is politicized and has nothing to do with justice, the assassinations, the truth or Lebanon’s future. It is a colonial and arrogant tool aiming at adjusting the Resistance and this will never happen.â€
Israel’s cabinet approved last Sunday a map of the Jewish State’s proposed maritime borders with Lebanon to be submitted for a United Nations opinion, in a brewing dispute between the neighbors over offshore gas fields.
On Monday, President Michel Sleiman warned Israel against taking any decision that violates international maritime boundary delimitation laws.
The STL indicted four members of the Iranian-and Syrian-backed Hezbollah in connection to the 2005 assassination of former PM Rafik Hariri, but the party’s secretary general, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, ruled out their arrest
