Beirut Is a Center of Resistance; Lebanese Scholar Rejects Any Attempt to Normalize Ties With Israel

Shiite News: Sheikh Mohammad al-Lababidi, speaking at the opening ceremony of the campaign titled “Lebanese People Against Normalizing Relations With Israel,” said that Beirut is a symbol of resistance, generosity, selflessness and sacrifice. He emphasized that any attempt to normalize relations with what he described as the “terrorist Israeli regime” would be firmly rejected.

He said the gathering represents the voice of the “real Lebanon and real Beirut,” adding that voices supporting the establishment or normalization of relations with Israel do not represent the Lebanese people.

The Lebanese Sunni scholar stressed that Beirut’s authentic identity and the sentiments of the Lebanese people are opposed to relations with Israel. He added that people from different segments of Lebanese society categorically reject the idea of normalizing relations with Israel.
