Sheltering Israeli Agent by Ukrainian Embassy in Beirut Political, Diplomatic Scandal: Hezbollah MP
Member of Hezbollah’s Loyalty to Resistance parliamentary bloc MP Ali Ammar slammed the move by Ukrainian embassy in Beirut to shelter an Israeli agent as political and diplomatic scandal.
In remarks carried by Al-Manar, MP Ammar said: “The embassy’s attempt to secure his departure from Lebanon, despite being aware that he is wanted by the Lebanese judiciary under arrest warrants for planning and carrying out terrorist operations, has been described as a dangerous precedent and a major political and diplomatic scandal, a disregard for Lebanese sovereignty, and a blatant disregard for the blood of the Lebanese and their national security.”
The Hezbollah lawmaker, who is member of Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee, said: “This agent, who assisted the Israeli enemy in targeting the Lebanese people, their land, and their security, is deeply complicit in the bloodshed of Lebanese civilians.”
In this context, he stressed that any attempt to shield him, facilitate his escape, or grant him diplomatic cover “constitutes a hostile act against Lebanon and its people, a blatant challenge to the authority of the state and its security institutions, and a form of collusion with the Israeli enemy against the country and its citizens.”
MP Ammar urged the Lebanese state and its relevant institutions, particularly the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as the competent security and judicial authorities, to act immediately to prevent the smuggling of the suspected agent and ensure his handover to the Lebanese judiciary.
He stressed the need to resist any external pressure or blackmail, calling for firm legal measures against attempts to shield the suspect, in respect for the blood of Lebanese victims of Israeli aggression.
Earlier on Friday, Lebanese journalist Radwan Mortada reported that the Ukrainian embassy in Beirut is sheltering a dangerous Israeli agent wanted by the Lebanese judiciary on arrest warrants, after he sought refuge there a few days ago.
The journalist specializing in security affairs said the agent is involved in planting explosive devices and carrying out assassinations and killings of Lebanese people between 2024 and 2025.
Mortada identified the agent as Khaled Al-Aida, a Palestinian-Syrian holding Ukrainian citizenship.
