Lebanese Army Takes Security Measures on Border with Syria Following Tensions

The Lebanese Army – Directorate of Orientation – on Wednesday issued a statement to announce security measures in the Hosh Al-Sayyed Ali – Hermel area to prevent further escalation with the Syrian side.

“In light of recent events along the Lebanese-Syrian border and following coordination between Lebanese and Syrian authorities to prevent further escalation, army units have begun implementing security measures in the Hosh Al-Sayyed Ali – Hermel area. These measures include patrol deployments to maintain security and stability along the border region.”

President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, on Wednesday monitored the security situation along the northern-eastern border and received a series of calls from Army Commander General Rodolphe Haykal, who briefed him on the measures being taken to restore calm and stability in the region.

The president emphasized the importance of securing a ceasefire, halting attacks, and maintaining border control in the villages along the frontier.
