Israeli Think Tank: Tel Aviv Benefits Most from Yemen War

The Israeli regime will gain maximum advantage of the Saudi-led military aggression against Yemen, according to an article by INSS.

In an article published by Israel’s Institute for National Security Studies (INSS), Yoel Guzansky and Ephraim Kam jointly wrote, “The Saudi-led collective move in Yemen entails a significant advantage for Israel.”

Guzansky and Kam added, “The Houthis (Ansarullah) cannot be defeated from the air…. The Saudi goal is to prevent the Houthis from using advanced weapons – fighter jets and surface-to-surface missiles – and keep the strategic port city of Aden from falling into their hands.”

Saudi Arabia has been striking Yemen for 18 days now to restore power to fugitive president Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh. The Saudi-led aggression has so far killed over 1026 Yemenis, including hundreds of women and children. The attacks have also left more than 2242 people injured.

Hadi stepped down in January and refused to reconsider the decision despite calls by Ansarullah revolutionaries of the Houthi movement.

Despite Riyadh’s claims that it is bombing the positions of the Ansarullah fighters, Saudi warplanes are flattening residential areas and civilian infrastructures.

Five Persian Gulf States — Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain, Qatar and Kuwait — and Egypt that are also assisted by Israel and backed by the US declared war on Yemen in a joint statement issued on March 26.

Despite Saudi Arabia’s non-stop attacks, Aden came under the Houthis’ (Ansarullah’s) control last week.
