Major Blow to US: Strategic Oil Reserves Fall to Lowest Level Since October 1982

Shiite News: The United States is facing growing challenges related to its energy reserves, with official data showing that the country’s Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) has fallen to its lowest level since October 1982.

According to the U.S. Department of Energy, the country’s strategic oil reserves declined sharply to 283.8 million barrels during the week ending September 25, marking their lowest level since October 1982.

The U.S. Department of Energy said in a statement released on Monday that the decline was linked to the release of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve under an agreement through which the United States had committed to releasing 172 million barrels from its reserves.
