Strong Protests Erupt Across Syria Against Jolani and His Transitional Government, Assad Images Raised

Shiite News: Protests against Ahmed al-Sharaa, also known as Abu Mohammad al-Jolani, and his transitional government have intensified across Syria. Demonstrations have reportedly taken place in several cities, including Idlib, Daraa, Aleppo and Damascus, amid public anger over shortages, insecurity, soaring prices and the presence of foreign armed groups, including Uyghur, Chechen and Uzbek fighters.

According to reports, images circulating on social media purportedly show a statue of Jolani being brought down, reflecting calls for an end to his rule. Demonstrators were also seen carrying images of former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

Protesters have accused Jolani of mismanaging the country’s resources and pursuing a lavish lifestyle. They have pointed to an expensive watch reportedly worth $27,000 as an example. Critics also allege that foreign armed groups have been given extensive authority under Jolani’s government and accuse them of committing abuses against Syrian civilians.

The demonstrations have reportedly continued for five days. After foreign fighters allegedly used force to disperse protesters, public anger reportedly intensified further. Thousands of burning tires have been used to block roads in Aleppo.

Protesters have reportedly chanted slogans including “The people are hungry,” “The transitional government of Jolani must go,” and “The people want to bring Jolani down.” They are also demanding the immediate removal of foreign fighters from Syria.
