7 takfiri Taliban and ASWJ terrorists killed in shootout with Karachi Police

Seven takfiri nasbi terrorists of outlawed Taliban and ASWJ/Lashkar-e-Jhangvi were killed in an gunfight with police in Karachi on Friday. The deadly gun battle took place in Gulshan-e-Bunair/Sherpao Colony of Landhi, Karachi.

 

According to sources, large quantity of arms and ammunitions were recovered from the possession of killed terrorists.

The shootout came as police raided a suspected hideout of the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in the poor neighbourhood of Gulshan-i-Buner to the east of the city, senior police official Rao Anwar said.

“Police asked the militants to surrender, but they opened fire, after which police responded,” he added.

Karachi, a city of 18 million people which contributes 42 per cent of Pakistan’s GDP, has been plagued by terrorist and violence of sectarian, ethnic and political nature for years.

Targeted operations led by Rangers with the support of police are ongoing in the city under a directive issued by the federal government against criminals already identified by federal, military and civilian agencies.
