Ayatollah Faqihi: Millions Would Have Attended Martyred Leader’s Funeral in India and Pakistan
If the Martyred Leader’s Funeral Had Been Held in India or Pakistan, Millions Would Have Attended: Ayatollah Faqihi
Shiite News: Member of the Society of Seminary Teachers of Qom, Ayatollah Mohsen Faqihi, has issued a message expressing his gratitude to the Iraqi government and people for their historic participation in the funeral procession of the “martyred leader,” Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
In his message, he cited the Quranic verse: “إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ سَيَجْعَلُ لَهُمُ الرَّحْمَٰنُ وُدًّا” (Quran 19:96)
He said that Allah places the love of true believers and righteous individuals in the hearts of people.
Ayatollah Faqihi described Iraq as a land of faith, loyalty, and courage, saying that he had the honor of participating in the massive funeral procession, where the Muslim Ummah paid tribute to a leader whom he described as a symbol of jihad, steadfastness, and freedom.
He stated that the Iraqi people had once again demonstrated their loyalty to the truth and that standing with the oppressed is an essential part of their religious and moral identity. According to him, the historic funeral represented a living example of Islamic unity and brotherhood, transcending nationality and geographical borders while uniting the Ummah around justice and truth.
The member of the Society of Seminary Teachers added that the large-scale participation of scholars, seminary students, tribal leaders, youth, women, and all segments of Iraqi society sent a powerful message to the world that Iraq is a land of loyalty and that its people never forget those who raise the banner of freedom and dignity.
He also thanked the supreme religious authority in Najaf, the Najaf Seminary, and all political and national groups for their role in making the historic funeral successful, praying that Allah rewards them abundantly for their service.
Ayatollah Faqihi further stated that the massive gathering also reflected the fact that if conditions had been favorable in other Islamic countries—particularly India, Pakistan, and elsewhere—millions of people would have participated in bidding farewell to the martyred leader, because, according to him, the leader represented a voice of freedom, dignity, and independence that resonated with people beyond national borders.
