MWM unveils manifesto for Elections 2018
Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen has unveiled its manifesto for Elections 2018 in which it has vowed to implement the pro-oppressed ideology of father of nation Mohammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Iqbal in Pakistan.
The MWM’s manifesto committee chairman Nisar Ali Faizi made public the manifesto at a press conference in Islamabad where he was flanked by Iqrarul Hassan.
Faizi said that founding fathers of Pakistan had not dreamt of the Pakistan in which incompetent and corrupt rulers had any place. He said that Jinnah and Iqbal wanted a peaceful, welfare Islamic state where affluent class could not usurp the rights of other classes and where minorities and all genders enjoy equal rights and opportunities as citizens of the country.
“Jinnah and Iqbal’s Pakistan requires political leaders and rulers to lead simple life,” he said, adding that MWM would work to introduce that trend in the country.
He said MWM was opposed to extremism, intolerance, hatemongering, terrorism and takfirism because these are serious existential threats to Pakistan of Jinnah and Iqbal. He said MWM believes in territorial integrity and sovereignty of Pakistan and would leave no stone unturned to ensure it.
“Rule of law is the top priority of the MWM manifesto. Being a political party, an ideological and religious movement, we believe it is right of eligible sincere, pious and patriot people to rule the country,” Faizi said.
MWM leader said that his party had entered into an electoral alliance with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in Punjab and exploring adjustments in other provinces.
