Anniversary of Imam Ali (AS)’s Martyrdom being observed across the world

Shia Muslims are mourning the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Ali (AS) in all over the world including Pakistan.

Clad in black, Shiites are holding mourning congregations and also bringing out processions where they recite nohas and beat chest to express their grief on the anniversary of assassination of first infallible Imam of Shia Islam.

Umayyad rebel of Islam Muavia had conspired to assassinate Hazrat Ali (AS). Abdul Rehman son of Muljim had hit Imam Ali (AS) with poisonous sword on Ramazan 19, in the year 40 A.H in Kufa Iraq when he was offering prayer. He was seriously injured and embraced martyrdom on Ramazan 21.

Sunni Ittehad Council has announced that 40 Sunni clerics will participate in the mourning procession of Ali (AS) Day on Sunday Ramazan 21.
