Thousands of Shia Muslims Celebrate Eid-e-Ghadir in Kargil

Thousands of people in the Shia dominated Kargil district of Jammu and Kashmir celebrated Eid al Ghadir (The day of announcement of Leadership in Islam) with great enthusiasm and religious fervor.

On this great occasion people from all walks of life congratulated each other and distributed blessing among each other. Houses, Mosques and Hussainiyahs were seen decorated with lights during night.

Many programs were held regarding the occasion in Kargil town. One of the largest program was held in Jamia Masjid Kargil by Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust in which thousands of lovers of Ahl ul Bayt participated. Before the program thousands of people came marching through Kargil Bazar shouting slogans of ‘Allah is Great, Khamenei is Leader’ and Down with America and Israel, and ultimately entered into Jamia Masjid to attend the program.

Speaking at the event scholars threw lights on the importance of the event of Ghadir and Wilayah (Guardianship) and urged the mass to stay in obedience of Wali e Faqih (Guardianship of the Islamic Jurist) during occultation. Famous poets of Kargil and childern also recited poems in praise of Ahl ul Bayt, specially Imam Ali (PBUT) during the program.
