A Saudi daily: A Saudi man finds a “Sijjeel” stone and refuses to sell it

sajeel saudiaThe Saudi “Sabaq” daily reported that a Saudi citizen found an archeological piece which is the “Sijjeel” stone mentioned in the Holy Quran. The daily also confirmed that the citizen received an offer from Egypt to sell the stone in return of four million dollars, but he turned it down.

According to the Saudi citizen, the stone weighs 131 g. and it is sealed. It is a burnt fossilized clay stone that dates back to 571 A.D.; i.e. around 1442 years ago. He also said that he found the stone in “Jarab” valley, in Al-Baha region, Al-Aqeeq province, knowing that this valley used to be called the Green Valley and it is known as the place where Abraha, the Abyssinian, and his soldiers stayed for a long time.

The daily also mentioned that the man refused to sell the stone in return of huge sums of money.

If this news is true, then this is considered an important event that sheds light to a certain era in the Islamic history and one of the many signs that signify the magnificence and mightiness of Allah.
