Allama Sajid Naqvi rejects armed struggle for Shia rights

Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi, chief of Shia Ulema Council of Pakistan has made it clear that he turned down the violation of sanctities of any sect and he also rejected armed struggle for the Shia rights.

“There is no need of armed struggle,” he said addressing the supporters at a mourning congregation on the Chehlum of veteran Syed Wizarat Hussain Naqvi, his senior and close aide who was also a gold medalist of Pakistan movement.
Allama Naqvi argued that armed struggle for rights was alien to Pakistan and even in Iran where peaceful struggle brought about Islamic revolution. He said that Pakistan also came into being due to peaceful struggle.
He said that even he was not give justice which he sought against the unjustifiable ban on his Tehreek-e-Jafaria Pakistan. Hence, he said, how an ordinary citizen of Pakistan could expect justice.
“We believe in just Islamic system. We turn down particular brand of Islam. Azadari is our inalienable legal and Constitutional right and we shall continue to exercise this right come what may,” he vowed.
On the one hand, he urged the supporters to participate in the azadari processions and congregations defying the terrorist threats and on the other conveyed to the government that Shia Muslims were not happy the encirclement of azadari in the name of security threat.
Allama Arif Wahidi, Allama Razi Jafar Naqvi, Allama Afzal Haideri, Allama Mazhar Abbas Alvi, Allama Shabbir Meesami, Allama Sibtain, Zahid Ali Akhunzada and Hassan Abbas also spoke on the occasion.
