Red Alert for Karachi | 5 Suicide Bombers Enter the Metropolis

Security Agencies on Tuesday issued a threat alert pointing five suicide bombers to have entered the metropolis.

Inspector General Sindh Police (IGSP) office revealed on Tuesday that the security has been put on red alert in Sindh province particularly in metropolis as officials have confirmed reports regarding likely terror attacks in Sindh.

According to Law Enforcement Agencies (LEA) report, a terrorist network has become active again in the West Zone of Karachi. With news of five suicide bombers, the agencies issued a red alert for the Karachi city.

The treat alert indicates clearly that terrorists are to target the masses in Pakistan, which is geared up to celebrate its Independence Day on 14th August and defence day on 6th September. The report reveals that Al-Qaeda in the Sub-Continent (AQIS) and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP – Swat Group) is plotting an episode as such.

Security Agencies have also appealed to the people to inform security officials immediate after they find any suspected person or any suspicious movement in their respective areas.

According to statement released by Central Police Office (CPO) here, it is claimed that police officials have received authentic information through reliable sources that terrorists might disrupt peace in Sindh including Karachi therefore the NGOs and other organizations together with public must play their role in maintenance of peace, law and order situation.

The statement further added that chief sensitive places and buildings including mosques, Imam Bargahs, shopping centers, government and semi-government buildings have been escorted with plain clothed police and security officials while police control room has been setup in CPO to tackle any untoward situation.
