China Concerned of ISIL’s Influence

China is showing increased concerns about the ISIL members’ infiltration into the border province of Xinjiang, reports said on Tuesday.

According to reports by Chinese newspapers, Beijing has tightened security controls in Xinjiang by taking DNA tests from residents who demand receiving immigration and traveling documents.

The residents of Xinjiang should also undergo fingerprinting processes and record their voice before traveling.

The new regulations have been implemented in this region before the start of the holy month of Ramadan on Monday.

Beijing had earlier claimed that it faces a “terrorist” threat in Xinjiang from violent separatists.

China has criticized the West, particularly since the Paris attacks, for displaying double standards in labeling attacks carried out in foreign cities as “terrorism” while failing to use the term for unrest within its borders.
