Ms. Kate Gilmore, Deputy of United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, visited Imam Ali Holy Shrine accompanied by an official delegation and this is the first visit for her to Iraq, Holy Najaf and Imam Ali Holy Shrine.

Ms. Gilmore toured accompanied with officials from Public Relations Department in Imam Ali Holy Shrine and informed about historical monuments surrounding the Holy Shrine.

Also, she listened to a brief explanation about the work of Imam Ali Holy Shrine in sponsoring, sheltering and helping hundreds of thousands of displaced people in the province of Najaf and from different denominations.

Ms. Gilmore said “I feel I am in my house, I found all the generosity. I found a great care for displaced people from different communities and this is the top of humanity.

The issue of care for those displaced reflects tolerance, altruism and love for others. I sensed the presence of suffering and destitution in the city only that did not prevent the hospitality of hundreds of thousands of displaced people and provide services for them.

This brings hope, inspiration and a point of hope for the future.”
