Three bigwigs of Shiites seek to become party to Abbas Town Case in SC
Allama Abbas Kumaili, Asghar Abbas Zaidi and Tasawur Advocate attended the hearing of Abbas Town Tragedy Case in Supreme Court Karachi Registry on Wednesday.
During the hearing they sought to become party in the case and tried to record their statement but Chief Justice Supreme Court Iftekhar Chaudhry informed them of the legal procedure.
He clarified that they should have registered their names to the registrar of the Supreme Court on Tuesday. After the hearing, Allama Kumaili, chief of Jafaria Alliance, Asghar Abbas Zaidi, political secretary of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen Karachi chapter and Tasawur Hussain, chief of Jafaria Legal Aid, met the CJ. The Chief Justice assured them that the judgment of the case would come soon and justice would be done.
Chief Justice has taken suo motu notice of Abbas Town Tragedy. He has ordered the government to remove the IG Sindh Police and DIG Karachi East and other police officials. He criticized the officials of Pakistan Rangers and intelligence agencies alongside police during the hearing.
