Shiites sit-in at 27 places in Karachi enter into 3rd day

dhrnaShia Muslims have staged sit-in at 27 places in Karachi alone to express solidarity with the heirs of martyrs of Hazara Town Quetta Tragedy who demand army operation against the terrorists.

At least 110 Shia Muslims have so far been reported martyred in a suicidal bomb attack in a Vegetable Market on Kirani Road-off Breweri Road Hazara Town Quetta.

Asif Safavi, a spokesman for the Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen has announced that the sits-in were being staged on a call from MWM central leadership.

Haider Naqvi, a spokesman for Shia Ulema Council announced that 9 sits-in were being staged under their leadership.

Allama Amin Shaheedi, deputy secretary general of the MWM has appealed to the people of Sindh [province to observe Tuesday as a day of mourning. Educational institutes have announced closure on Tuesday.

Shiite men and women as well as children have blocked Shahrah-e-Pakistan leading to Super Highway near Incholi. National Highway and train tracks were blocked near Malir 15 and main artery of city M A Jinnah Road was blocked near Numaish Chowrangi. Sits-in were being staged at two points on University Road, at Nazimabad Rizvia Chowrangi, North Nazimabad 5 Star Chowrangi, Peoples Chowrangi, near Shah Faisal Colony, Korangi, Landhi.

The protestors are demanding that Quetta be handed over to army control, army operation be launched against the outlawed terrorist groups involved in Shia genocide and Sipah-e-Sahaba ideology should be banned and they should not be allowed to work under any new name.

Allama Sadiq Raza Taqvi, Maulana Rajab Ali Bangash, Maulana Ali Anwar of the MWM, Allama Nazir Abbas and Jafar Subhani of the SUC spoke to the protestors. They vowed that their sit-in would be continued as long as the bodies of the martyrs are buried.

They were raising slogans of Labbaik Ya Hussain (AS) and Labbbaik Ya Mahdi (AS). Banners and placards as well as alams are placed at the venues of sit-in protests.
