US Embassy Orders Non-Essential Staff to Leave Saudi Arabia

Shiite News: The US Embassy in Riyadh has instructed non-essential government employees and their family members to leave the country in view of fears that Yemeni attacks may spread to other areas of Saudi Arabia. According to the statement, the US State Department has issued this order since 23 October 2026 due to increased security threats.

The statement said that Yemeni operations have targeted Saudi Arabia’s airports and other important infrastructure, which has affected the air travel system on a large scale, and warned that the scope of confrontations could rapidly spread to other areas.

The US Embassy has said that American government employees will have to obtain special permission from their superior officer to travel from any airport in Saudi Arabia.
