If It Chooses the Path of War, America Will Suffer a Major Strategic Defeat: Iranian Foreign Minister

Shiite News: Iran’s Foreign Minister Syed Abbas Araghchi has said that America must choose between a fair and dignified agreement with Tehran or an even bigger strategic defeat, and if Washington once again chooses the path of military action instead of diplomacy, the result will be a defeat far greater than in the past.

In his article published in a British newspaper, Araghchi wrote that Iran is an ancient and proud civilization that will never kneel before any power. He said that the US President launched the US-Israeli aggression against Iran in late February on the basis of fundamentally wrong estimates about Iran’s resilience, and perhaps he is still being wrongly told that our armed forces are not ready to defend the homeland, even though all the evidence is to the contrary.

The Iranian Foreign Minister said that the fearless forces of the Islamic Republic have learned valuable lessons from Israeli and American aggression since 2025. Referring to attacks carried out during negotiations, he said that we have no confidence in the sincerity of the US administration’s desire for peace; however, Iran is ready to give diplomacy another chance, provided that America presents solid evidence of sincere readiness for confidence-building and a fair solution.

Araghchi stated that on the occasion of the United Nations General Assembly, he had presented Washington, through mediators, a seven-day plan for ending the war and reopening the Strait of Hormuz, under which no action is expected from America that it has not already agreed to. He said that Iran intends to fulfill its historical role as the guardian of the Strait of Hormuz.

He cited the damage inflicted on American military bases in the region by the Iranian armed forces and the destruction of American military equipment as proof of the impact of the war on American interests, and said that the White House has failed to acknowledge the burden of rising inflation on ordinary Americans. According to Araghchi, even after nearly eight months of war, America has not been able to achieve its declared objectives.
