Saudi Military Equipment Targeted at Al-Rayyan Airport: Yemeni Armed Forces

Shiite News: The Yemeni armed forces have announced that they have targeted the military equipment at Al-Rayyan Airport in the city of Mukalla in Hadhramaut province, which the Saudi enemy had transferred there via military cargo aircraft.

Spokesman of the Yemeni armed forces Brigadier General Yahya Saree said that the criminal Saudi enemy is using Al-Rayyan Airport for the purpose of transferring weapons and military equipment to kill the Yemeni people. He warned the Saudi regime to refrain from using civilian installations for military purposes, otherwise it will have to face serious consequences.

The Yemeni armed forces clarified that converting civilian installations into military bases endangers the lives of ordinary civilians and makes these installations part of the military aggression ongoing against Yemen, the full responsibility for which will fall on the Saudi enemy.

On the other hand, Governor of Hadhramaut Luqman Baras, strongly condemning the Saudi military use of Al-Rayyan International Airport, has termed it a violation of Yemen’s sovereignty and international law and a war crime. He said that closing the airport for civilian flights and converting it into a military base has deprived thousands of civilians, especially patients and students, of basic travel and medical facilities, which is tantamount to collective punishment.

The Governor of Hadhramaut demanded from the United Nations, the international community, and human rights organizations that they condemn the military use of the airport and exert pressure for the restoration of civilian flights, while he appealed to the people of Hadhramaut, tribal elders, and social circles to reject the Saudi military presence in the province.
