Talks with Oman on Safe Shipping Routes in Strait of Hormuz in Final Stage: Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman

Shiite News: Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei announced at his weekly press conference that serious negotiations between Iran and Oman on determining safe maritime routes in the Strait of Hormuz have reached their final stage. He said that despite interference by some third parties, the understanding reached between the two sides would soon be formally registered with the International Maritime Organization.

Regarding the United States’ call for new negotiations, Baghaei said that insecurity and tensions in the Strait of Hormuz are a direct result of US actions. He stated that for genuine security in the region, the United States must end all its aggressive actions, economic sanctions, and naval blockade. Baghaei also confirmed the arrival of Qatari, Omani, and Pakistani delegations in Tehran, describing their visits as part of diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions in the region.

Commenting on US attacks on a wedding ceremony in Sirik and other civilian areas, Baghaei called claims by US officials false and said that the United States was effectively adopting the approach of the Israeli regime. Regarding Peru’s statement about severing diplomatic relations, he expressed surprise, saying that no such diplomatic relationship between the two countries existed in the first place that could be severed.

Finally, responding strongly to statements by the Israeli prime minister, the Iranian spokesman said that the Israeli regime sees its survival only through continued warfare and the expansion of tensions. He said the international community has now awakened and that there is a global consensus calling for an immediate end to what he described as Israeli genocide and terrorist actions in the region.
