Pakistan hold Key Consultations to End Regional War
Shiite News: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has stated that Pakistan has made important diplomatic progress by holding consultations with the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Egypt to explore multiple ways for an early and complete end to the ongoing regional war.
After hosting the meeting of the foreign ministers of the three countries on Sunday, Ishaq Dar said that all participants unanimously agreed that the war is not in anyone’s interest and will only result in destruction and loss of lives.
The Pakistani Foreign Minister further stated that he briefed his counterparts on the possibility of facilitating negotiations between Iran and the United States in Islamabad. He added that the proposal received strong support from all sides.
Highlighting Pakistan’s diplomatic outreach, Ishaq Dar said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the country has maintained continuous engagement with regional and international partners and has remained part of all efforts aimed at ending the war.
He further said that it is encouraging that both Iran and the United States have expressed confidence in Pakistan’s role as a facilitator. “It will be an honor for Pakistan to host and facilitate negotiations between the two sides in the coming days,” he remarked.
The Foreign Minister also revealed that he held telephone conversations with the Foreign Minister of China and the Secretary-General of the United Nations, both of whom expressed full support for Pakistan’s peace initiative.
He emphasized that dialogue, diplomacy, and confidence-building measures remain the only viable path forward for ensuring peace and stability in the region.
